The software will enable companies to significantly reduce operating costs while helping businesses seamlessly and efficiently extend services for support of modern infrastructures.</p>

<p>Today, nearly 15 percent of all new enterprise application functionality is written in COBOL. The programming language also powers many everyday services such as ATM transactions, check processing, travel booking and insurance claims. With more than 200 billion lines of COBOL code being used across industries such as banking, insurance, retail and human resources, it is crucial for businesses to have the appropriate framework to improve performance, modernize key applications and increase productivity. </p>

<p>IBM Enterprise COBOL for z/OS, enables developers to deliver significant performance improvements in their business critical applications.  For example, applications using the new compiler have shown performance increases of 10 to 20 percent. </p>

<p>IBM Enterprise COBOL for z/OS v5.1 compiler works with the latest versions of IBM Customer Information Control System (CICS), Information Management System (IMS) and DB2 software and is expected to be available later this quarter.</p>

     <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>CINCINNATI, Ohio &#8211; Macy&#39;s, Inc. today announced that Bloomingdale&#39;s plans to enter the Hawaii market for the first time in fall 2015 with a 167,000-square-foot, three-level store to be built in Ala Moana Center in Honolulu on the Island of Oahu.</p>

<p>The new store will be part of a redevelopment of a portion of Ala Moana, Hawaii&#39;s premier shopping destination, by General Growth Properties. Construction will begin in 2014. Bloomingdale&#39;s will join a highly successful Macy&#39;s store which already operates at Ala Moana Center.</p>

<p>The Bloomingdale&#39;s store will include a wide range of designer and luxury goods, including women&#39;s apparel, shoes, accessories, beauty, men&#39;s, kids and home. Bloomingdale&#39;s Ala Moana store is expected to employ a workforce of approximately 250 associates.</p>

<p>&#39;Ala Moana will provide an exceptional environment for the distinctive, upscale shopping experience for which Bloomingdale&#39;s is world famous. <p>IFC will assess the bank&#39;s existing corporate governance practices and help align them with international best practices. IFC will also advise and train directors, managers, and major shareholders in the key areas of board functions, internal control and disclosure.</p>

     <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Fraunhofer IIS&#39;s GoalRef&#8482; goal-line technology will be used at the Copa Amsterdam soccer tournament from May 18 to May 20, 2013, to guarantee correct goal-line decisions. GoalRef&#8482; uses magnetic fields to reliably determine whether the ball has completely crossed the goal line. To this end, the system will be installed at Amsterdam&#39;s Olympic Stadium and used for all 18 games. The Copa Amsterdam will be contested by the world&#39;s best under-19 club teams, including Ajax Amsterdam and Borussia Moenchengladbach.</p>

<p>GoalRef&#8482; has been one FIFA&#39;s preferred goal-line technologies since the FIFA Club World Cup took place in Japan in late 2012. An international audience witnessed the system successfully passing its first big test under real-world competitive conditions. For instance, during the final in Yokohama between Chelsea F.C. and Sao Paulo&#39;s Corinthians, GoalRef&#8482; helped to quickly clear up a confusing situation in front of the Brazilian team&#39;s goal: Despite not having a clear view of the ball, the referee had no hesitation in allowing play to continue as his wristwatch had not received a &#39;Goal&#39; signal.</p>

<p>The Fraunhofer-developed goal-line technology uses a low-intensity magnetic field that is created by antennas attached to the goalposts and crossbar. As soon as the ball travels through the magnetic field created above the goal line, a signal is sent to the referee&#39;s watch, allowing them to decide immediately whether or not a goal has been scored.</p>

<p>The system is easy and inexpensive to install at any soccer stadium. Apart from the antennas attached to the goal frames, all that is needed is a special ball. Embedded in the ball are coils that are able to trigger antenna signals and require no power supply. The Derbystar ball has been developed by Danish company Select and Fraunhofer IIS for use with GoalRef&#8482; at the Copa Amsterdam.<br /> </p>

     <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Cincinnati, OH</strong> - Levels of physical inactivity and obesity are very high in children, with fewer than 50% of primary school-aged boys and fewer than 28% of girls meeting the minimum levels of physical activity required to maintain health. Exergaming, using active console video games that track player movement to control the game (e.g., Xbox-Kinect, Wii), has become popular, and may provide an alternative form of exercise to counteract sedentary behaviors. In a study scheduled for publication in The Journal of Pediatrics, researchers studied the effects of exergaming on children.</p>

<p>Dr. Louise Naylor and researchers from The University of Western Australia, Liverpool John Moores University, and Swansea University evaluated 15 children, 9-11 years of age, who participated in 15 minutes each of high intensity exergaming (Kinect Sports &#8211; 200m Hurdles), low intensity exergaming (Kinect Sports &#8211; Ten Pin Bowling), and a graded exercise test (treadmill). The researchers measured energy expenditure. They also measured the vascular response to each activity using flow-mediated dilation (FMD), which is a validated measure of vascular function and health in children.</p>

<p>They found that high intensity exergaming elicited an energy expenditure equivalent to moderate intensity exercise; low intensity exergaming resulted in an energy expenditure equivalent to low intensity exercise. Additionally, although the low intensity exergaming did not have an impact on FMD, high intensity exergaming significantly decreased FMD, suggesting that the latter may improve vascular health in children. High intensity exergaming also increased heart rate and the amount of energy burned. Participants reported similar enjoyment levels with both intensities of exergaming, which indicates that children may be equally likely to continue playing the high intensity games.</p>

<p>According to Dr. Naylor, &#39;Higher intensity exergaming may be a good form of activity for children to use to gain long-term and sustained health benefits.&#39; These findings also support the growing notion that high intensity activity is beneficial for children&#39;s health, and high intensity exergaming should be considered a means of encouraging children to become more active.</p>

<p>To celebrate the spirit of independent stylists and fashionistas everywhere, Diet Coke is launching the second season of its annual Diet Coke Young Designer Challenge &#8211; an opportunity of a lifetime for a style maven to become the next great fashion designer. Diet Coke is the number one calorie-free brand and number two beverage in the country behind Coca-Cola.The brand is inviting creative individuals to submit a Diet Coke-branded T-shirt design inspired by the extraordinary style of its new partner Taylor Swift for the chance to have their original creation featured in all U.S. Target stores this fall. <p>While submissions were only accepted from students at select design schools last year, the fashionable twist in 2013 is that anyone in the U.S. with a creative and inspired idea can submit a Diet Coke T-shirt design.</p>

<p>Adding to the excitement, acclaimed fashion designer Rebecca Minkoff, along with the top creative minds at Diet Coke and Target, will select the winning Diet Coke T-shirt design. The judges will select the top design from a pool of 10 finalists, which will be determined from an online public vote in June.</p>

     <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Wärtsilä, the marine industry&#39;s leading solutions and services provider, has received the Final Approval status from the International Maritime Organization&#39;s (IMO) Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC) for its Wärtsilä AQUARIUS&#174; EC Ballast Water Management System. The approval was granted at the MEPC&#39;s 65th session held at the IMO headquarters in London on 13th May 2013. The Basic Approval had been granted in October 2012.</p>

<p>The approval submission was taken into consideration as part of the MEPC 65&#39;s agenda covering &#39;harmful aquatic organisms in ballast water&#39;. Final Approval is required for systems using an active substance, and is based upon examination of full scale prototype test data and all required supporting documentation on aspects such as risk and safety to the ship, crew, general public, and the environment.</p>

<p>The documented information was reviewed and approved by a joint panel of experts from the Scientific Aspects of Marine Environment Protection ballast water working group. The application was submitted to the IMO by the Dutch Human Environment and Transport Inspectorate. A key element of the Final Approval submission was an investigation covering the impact of treated ballast water on coated and uncoated materials. A full Type Approval certificate for the Wärtsilä AQUARIUS&#174; EC system is expected by end of July this year.</p>

<p>Ballast water treatment with an Wärtsilä AQUARIUS&#174; EC system is achieved through a simple and efficient two stage process. Upon uptake the sea water is first passed through a back washing filter (1st Stage) and then the filtered sea water passes through a static mixer, where the disinfectant generated from the side stream electrolysis unit (2nd stage) is injected to ensure a maximum level of 10 parts per million (ppm) in the treated ballast water.</p>

<p>During discharge the filter is bypassed and any residual oxidant in treated ballast water is monitored before being discharged overboard. If required, treated ballast water is neutralised by injecting sodium bisulfite into the main ballast line during discharge. Neutralisation effectiveness is continuously monitored to ensure compliance with MARPOL discharge limits.</p>

     <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Springdale, Arkansas &#8211;  &#8211; As part of Tyson Foods&#39; (<a href="http://finance.google.com/finance?q=TSN" target="_blank">NYSE: TSN</a>) commitment to proper treatment of farm animals, today the company announced the formation of an independent Farm Animal Well-Being Advisory Panel. Members will serve as advisers to the Tyson FarmCheck program, a comprehensive initiative designed to ensure responsible care and overall well-being of farm animals.</p>

<p>Each panel member is a leader in his or her field and was invited to join the panel because of their demonstrated interests across a broad range of issues related to raising farm animals responsibly. Panel members will help to determine research priorities and suggest ways to improve the audit program. Their participation is not a public endorsement of the FarmCheck program, Tyson Foods or any specific animal well-being program.</p>

     <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>GDF SUEZ announces the signing of a joint venture agreement with Sempra Energy, Mitsubishi and Mitsui for the development, financing and construction of the natural gas liquefaction project of Cameron LNG, a unit of Sempra Energy, in Louisiana. </p>

<p>Located at the site of the existing Sempra Energy LNG terminal in Hackberry, the facility will have 3 liquefaction trains with a capacity of 12 million tons of liquefied natural gas (LNG) per annum and will be operated by Cameron LNG. </p>

<p>Under this joint venture agreement, GDF SUEZ, Mitsubishi and Mitsui will each acquire a 16.6% equity stake in the existing terminal and in the liquefaction project, with Sempra Energy retaining a 50.2% position.</p>

<p>Announced last year, GDF SUEZ has also signed with Sempra Energy a 20-year liquefaction service agreement. GDF SUEZ, Mitsubishi and Mitsui have subscribed the full capacity of the three-train facility. GDF SUEZ will thus have access to a capacity of 4 Mtpa of LNG, which will be exported to the Group&#39;s  LNG markets.</p>

<p>The tolling and joint venture agreements are subject to a final investment decision by each party, to final permit authorizations, and to securing financing commitments, all of which are expected by early 2014, along with customary conditions precedent. The new LNG plant is expected to start operations in late 2017. Last year, Cameron LNG obtained approval from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to export up to 12 Mtpa of domestically produced LNG to all current and future countries with which the United States has signed a Free Trade Agreement(1).</p>
