<p>New York, NY &#8211; The 2013 Tribeca Film Festival (TFF), co-founded by Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal and Craig Hatkoff, and presented by American Express, today announced that more than 450,000 people attended screenings, panels, talks and free community events &#8211; including the Tribeca Drive-In series, Family Festival Street Fair, Tribeca/ESPN Sports Day, as well as the Storyscapes installation at the Bombay Sapphire House of Imagination, the Tribeca Disruptive Innovation Awards and the Tribeca Film Institute Interactive Day &#8211; during the Festival&#39;s 12th edition.</p>

<p>From April 17 through 28, the Festival hosted nearly 400 screenings and panels with more than 95% attendance. A total of 89 features and 60 short films from 37 countries were screened for more than 117,000 movie-goers and panel attendees during the course of the 12-day Festival.</p>

<p>Audiences from across the country received front row access to exclusive Tribeca content through the fourth annual Tribeca Online Festival (TOF), which returned with free streaming of a selection of three world premiere features and four shorts, as well as panel conversations with filmmakers and the TFF awards ceremony. TOF also hosted a new online contest, the #6SECFILMS Vine Competition, a juried competition using the six-second, micro-movie making app, as well as video highlights from the &#39;Future of Film Live&#39; conversation series, featuring seven talks  during TFF with filmmakers and industry leaders on the evolution of the film industry.</p>

<p>The popular free community events returned with the Tribeca Drive-In movie series on the Hudson River, which featured the classic Hitchcock film, The Birds, followed by Tim Burton&#39;s beloved comedy Beetlejuice and a screening of Lil Bub &amp; Friendz, co-sponsored by AT&amp;T and JetBlue, and hosted by Brookfield. Despite the unseasonable weather, more than 6,000 visitors came out for the free, outdoor films and participated in games and activities, including movie trivia, a live bird show performance, a ghoulish costume contest, face painting, prize giveaways and more.</p>

<p>Festival organizers and NYPD Community Affairs Officer Gene Schatz estimated that a crowd of 325,000 enjoyed the signature Tribeca Family Festival Street Fair and Tribeca/ESPN Sports Day on Saturday, April 27, including live performances from the casts of Broadway shows and visits from New York sports teams in the Tribeca neighborhood. The day also featured a sneak preview of the upcoming summer comedy The Smurfs 2, alongwith a free family screening The Smurfs withappearances by cast members. More than 2,400 attended the Festival&#39;s free talks, including the &#39;Future of Film Live&#39; program, and the Tribeca Talks: Industry and Tribeca Talks: Pen to Paper panel discussions.</p>

<p>The 2013 Festival closed with the 30th Anniversary of Martin Scorsese&#39;s The King of Comedy, restored in association with The Film Foundation, Regency Enterprises and Twentieth Century Fox. The screening was followed by a Q&amp;A with Scorsese and cast members Robert De Niro and Jerry Lewis.</p>

<p>On 24 May, Tate Liverpool celebrates the 25th anniversary of its opening, and twenty-five years of the regenerated Albert Dock. A special free display, reflecting on the past quarter-century and looking forward to the gallery&#39;s future, alongside a programme of family-friendly events programmed in parallel with partners across the Dock, will allow visitors to share in the celebrations.</p>

<p>The Tate Liverpool is 25 display (17&#8211;27 May, closed Wednesday 22 May) invites visitors to find out more about the gallery&#39;s history, achievements, partnerships, programmes and artistic relationships over the past twenty-five years. The display format will be a timeline containing exhibition posters, gallery facts and memories and birthday wishes submitted by artists, staff and friends of the gallery.  Visitors will be encouraged to contribute their own stories or drawings to the timeline, and will have the opportunity to enjoy photographs and exhibition catalogues from past to present.</p>

<p>Visitors will be able to add their memories of the Albert Dock to the interactive website makinghistory.albertdock.com from a special station within the display, which will remain in the gallery throughout the summer. The web app is part of Gower Street Estates&#39; (GSE) Albert Dock: MAKING HISTORY campaign, which reflects the global significance and impact of Albert Dock and its place in Liverpool&#39;s economic, cultural and social history. The web app is an international platform for people to engage with the Albert Dock and share their memories even if they can&#39;t visit in person.  Tate Liverpool is also encouraging visitors to tweet their memories and birthday messages to @tateliverpool using #TL25 or on Facebook.</p>

<p>Tate Liverpool will also be hosting a series of special events and activities linked to the birthday.  The Art of Parties (Friday 17 May 2013, 18.00 &#8211; 21.00) is part of the Light Night programme. The event will feature music, live performances by A Sense of Sound and Company of Friends, activities, pampering by So Coco Rouge and party games inspired by the last twenty-five years. The event is presented by In the Frame, a group of adults with learning disabilities who regularly meet at Tate to plan and deliver activities and events. It is open to all and is a free event &#8211; no booking required.</p>

<p>On Saturday 18 May (11.00 and 14.00) the award-winning children&#39;s illustrator Claudia Boldt will be at the gallery to read her new story Melvin: The Luckiest Monkey in the World followed by a creative workshop, as part of the Liverpool Literary Festival . <p>From Monday 27 May &#8211; Sunday 2 June (13.30&#8211;16.30) families can celebrate our silver anniversary by creating silvery sculptures from a selection of shiny materials in our Art Dock Studio with artist Fiona Smith.      <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Washington, DC&#8212;The Jazz in the Garden concert series, a beloved summer tradition at the National Gallery of Art, begins its 13th season on Friday, May 24, with weekly performances through Friday, August 30. The free concert series features an array of jazz artists performing a wide variety of styles&#8212;including blusion, zydeco, and Afrofunk&#8212;every Friday evening from 5 to 8:30 p.m. in the National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden. Sin Miedo&#39;s performance on June 7 marks the seventh year of collaboration between Jazz in the Garden and the DC Jazz Festival.</p>

<p>Guests may purchase food and beverages from the Pavilion Café and its carts located around the Garden or may bring their own picnics. Alcoholic beverages may not be brought to the premises from outside and are subject to confiscation. Security officers reserve the right to inspect all items brought into the Sculpture Garden. For the safety of visitors and works of art, access to the Sculpture Garden will be limited if the space becomes too crowded.</p>

<p>Concerts take place amid the Gallery&#39;s collection of large-scale sculpture by such artists as Louise Bourgeois, Roy Lichtenstein, Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen, and Roxy Paine.</p>

<p>The relaxed garden setting and friendly cultural atmosphere has made Jazz in the Garden a favorite Friday evening destination for Washingtonians and visitors of all ages. <p>National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden</p>

<p>Designed to offer year-round enjoyment to the public in one of the preeminent locations on the National Mall, the 6.1-acre National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden opened on May 23, 1999. The richly landscaped setting provides a distinctive backdrop for 19 monumental works of 20th-century sculpture by internationally renowned artists. Visitors may enjoy spacious seating and walking areas amid the native American canopy and flowering trees, shrubs, ground covers, and perennials. The National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden was given to the nation by The Morris and Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation. <p>When visiting the Sculpture Garden, please do not touch the works of art. Tables are not permitted. Only service animals are allowed.</p>

<p>The summer hours of the National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden, from May 25 to September 3, are as follows:</p>

<p>Monday&#8211;Thursday and Saturday, 10 a.m.&#8211;7 p.m.</p>

<p>Friday, 10 a.m.&#8211;9:30 p.m.</p>

<p>Sunday, 11 a.m.&#8211;7 p.m.</p>

<p>The Pavilion Café remains open until 8:30 p.m. on Fridays during the Jazz in the Garden concert series and until 6 p.m. the rest of the week.</p>

<p>Located on the National Mall at 7th Street and Constitution Avenue NW, on the block adjacent to the West Building of the Gallery, the Sculpture Garden is accessible to visitors with disabilities.</p>

<p>The nearest Metro stations are Archives/Navy Memorial (Green/Yellow Lines), Smithsonian (Blue/Orange Lines), and Judiciary Square (Red Line). The DC Circulator Bus stops at 4th Street and Madison Drive NW and on 7th Street and Constitution Avenue NW.</p>

<p>General Information</p>

<p>The National Gallery of Art and its Sculpture Garden are at all times free to the public. They are located on the National Mall between 3rd and 9th Streets at Constitution Avenue NW, and are open Monday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The Gallery is closed on December 25 and January 1. With the exception of the atrium and library, the galleries in the East Building will be closing gradually beginning in July 2013 and will remain closed for approximately three years for Master Facilities Plan and renovations. For the safety of visitors and the works of art, nothing may be carried into the Gallery on a visitor&#39;s back. Any bag or other items that cannot be carried reasonably and safely in some other manner must be left in the checkrooms. <p>TORONTO &#8211; The Art Gallery of Ontario&#39;s popular 1st Thursdays series returns on May 2, 2013, with a lineup inspired by the Gallery&#39;s current exhibition Revealing the Early Renaissance: Stories and Secrets in Florentine Art. Party-goers will enjoy throwback Renaissance-themed performances, art-making experiences, live music and curator talks. Advance tickets are $10 for members/$12 general public and are on sale now at ago.net/1stThursdays. The 19+ event runs from 7 to 11:30 p.m.</p>

<p>Blending killer licks and divine harmonies, musical headliner ZEUS takes the stage in Walker Court at 9:45 p.m. As a 2010 Polaris Prize nominee, the Toronto foursome has garnered international attention with albums Say Us (2010) and Busting Visions (2012), both released on beloved Canadian indie label Arts &amp; Crafts.</p>

<p>Dance to Toronto-based Iris Fraser-Gudrunas&#39;s DJ set in Walker Court featuring her ongoing project DJ Gallery. The project has Fraser-Gudrunas spinning tracks in outlandish costumes designed by different artists. Her getup for the May edition of 1st Thursdays features Renaissance-themed garb created by local artist Adrienne Kammerer. DJ Mama Knows takes to the decks in Galleria Italia.</p>

<p>Create a one-of-a-kind artwork at 1st Thursdays&#39; popular DIY art-making stations. Local artist Ortansa Moraru will lead a printmaking demo in the Margaret &amp; Jim Fleck Gallery all night long. A paint-by-numbers station will be available in Galleria Italia encouraging party-goers to create their own Renaissance masterpieces.</p>

<p>Join Toronto artist Nicole Collins as she leads a drawing performance entitled &#39;will it go round in circles?&#39; in the Irina Moore Gallery. Joined by two co-performers, Collins aims to draw a perfect circle using her arms as a compass and silverpoint as a marker. The installation explores notions of perfection, the inevitability of failure and human persistence.</p>

<p>Experience Revealing the Early Renaissance: Stories and Secrets in Florentine Art alongside local artists and the exhibition&#39;s dynamic young curator, Sasha Suda. From 7:30 to 9 p.m., this series of three talks will illuminate rare artworks of the Early Renaissance with open discussions on Early-Florentine culture. An additional $10 admission applies to see the special exhibition.</p>

<p>For photography lovers, the AGO&#39;s Sophie Hackett, curator of Light My Fire: Some Propositions about Portraits and Photography, will lead an informal tour of the exhibition with Thierry Gervais, head of research at the Ryerson Image Centre, at 7:30 p.m. Light my Fire is a featured exhibition in the Scotiabank CONTACT Photography Festival.</p>

<p>Find two artist-in-residence performances throughout gallery spaces all night long. Former AGO artist-in-residence duo Life of a Craphead marks the closing of a 50-year retrospective with a performance of &#39;all of the performances they have ever performed.&#34; The AGO&#39;s current photographer-in-residence and 2012 Grange Prize finalist Jason Evans will rove through the European and Canadian galleries with a portable DJ installation playing records from his personal collection for specially chosen works in the AGO collection, in a performance entitled Music for Looking.</p>

<p>May&#39;s 1st Thursdays menu features porchetta sandwiches and arancini stations on the main level, as well a parmesan sandwich station in Galleria Italia.
