NEW YORK: Melodia Women's Choir will premiere a new commissioned work, "Notes Upon the Breeze", on November 14 at 8 pm at St.Peter's Church in the CitiGroup Center, E. 54th St. and Lexington Ave, in New York City.

The new work, the result of a Women Composer's Commissioning Competition held by Melodia Women's Choir, was written by Chris Lastovicka. The music is set to poems by Kay Ryan, the current U.S. Poet Laureate. Artistic Director Cynthia Powell will conduct.

''Notes Upon the Breeze' is fresh and inspired, full of subtlety and wit,' said Powell. The choir is now in its sixth season, according to Jennifer Clarke, executive director and founder, and is performing its third commissioned work by a woman composer.

The concert, filled with radiant music that reflects the meditative sentiments of autumn, also features "Songs of the Lights" by Latvian-born Canadian composer Imant Raminsh. Five songs from 'The Princess' by Gustav Holst will be performed by the choir, along with selections from Pergolesi's "Stabat Mater", which is recognized for its beauty and musical mastery.

The choir will be joined by the string performers of the Transfiguration Quintet and Taisiya Pushkar on the piano.

Melodia Women's Choir is comprised of 35 talented women singers who are selected through an auditioning process.
Hazy Lights Mean Risky Nights: Dim Headlights Haunt America's Cars, Reducing Visibility and Increasing Risks of Accidents

National Headlight Safety Month in October to Help Educate Drivers about the Risks of, Solutions for Headlight Safety

ST. PAUL, MN (October 1, 2009) -- There is a safety issue on America's roads that rarely comes to light -- reduced visibility, which is a factor in 2.8 million accidents, 23,000 fatal crashes and 2,300 pedestrian deaths. As Daylight Savings Time ends, and kids hit the streets trick-or-treating, the importance of clear nighttime visibility increases.

The AAIA Car Care Council found that 26 percent of the cars it inspected had issues with their lighting system. The culprits -- headlight bulbs that dim over time and hazed headlight lens. When one bulb burns out, both bulbs should be replaced, a commonly ignored automotive maintenance step.

Millions of cars on the road today have plastic headlight lenses. As cars age and are exposed to weather, they may become hazed and yellowed, reducing the light output from the headlamp. With the average age of cars on the road about 10 years old, the problem is growing. This is a common issue on many domestic and foreign automobiles, from economy to luxury vehicles.

Automotive experts Sam Memmolo and Courtney Hansen are recommending that car owners conduct their vehicle visibility safety check this fall to determine their risks and take steps to correct their visibility problems. They are offering safety tips, project ideas and how-to videos to help consumers address this issue on www.3MCarCare.com, YouTube 3M Car Care Channel and the Facebook 3M-US Car Care group.

'When you walk through a parking lot or drive in traffic today, you see a number of cars with hazed headlights, non-working lights, streaky windshield wipers and broken sideview mirrors,' said Sam Memmolo, host of 'Sam's Garage' radio show and longtime expert on car repair and restoration. 'Every one of these cars may create a danger to the driver and other people on the road. But with some basic education about car care and maintenance, all car owners can take care of these problems before they cause accidents.'

— WebWireID106960 —

Automotive

Media Advisory

Multimedia / Online / Internet

Retail

Television

WebWire® Copyright © 2009 Warmtone Corp. | Use of this content is subject to our Terms of Service | More Feeds

New Businesses Facing Delays in VAT Registration Process

Despite the HMRC claiming that a VAT registration application is typically turned around within two weeks, new businesses are reportedly experiencing lengthy delays. UK business owners are now worried that they are facing yet another obstacle, in these uncertain financial times.

One such business owner recently told the Financial Mail that after registering his company for VAT in April 2009 he was informed that there would be a six week wait due to a processing backlog. Despite chasing up the application on numerous occasions, he did not receive his registration until last week – almost 5 months later.

Kevin Kinsella of Kinsella Tax Investigations, one of the UK's foremost HMRC tax investigation specialists, notes that, 'If the HMRC are leaving our clients waiting for 3-5 months, this could cause a great deal of aggravation later on.'

'It used to be satisfactory to issue a VAT invoice with the words 'VAT applied for' but that is not really a VAT invoice, which again could cause problems if there was an investigation by HMRC.'

Accountancy firm UHY Hacker Young have also warned that if firms have to wait for VAT registration numbers, their ability to trade can be harshly restricted; not good news during a financial downturn.

A source at UHY Hacker Young said 'The backlog at Revenue and Customs has never been worse, despite assurances over the past few years that the issue was being resolved. These delays are causing serious problems for small business trying to set up in a tough environment and are hampering wider economic recovery.'

A spokesman for HMRC denied there were extensive problems, still stating that, on average, it takes just two weeks to process a VAT application. However, he did admit that HMRC was taking an observant approach to applications in the light of an increased number of fraudulent applications in recent years.

Kinsella Tax Limited has over 120 years' experience of the tax investigation industry and operates nationwide.

Three Executives to Participate in Four Panels Over Two Days

ISLANDIA, N.Y., CA, Inc. (NASDAQ: CA) today announced that three executives in the company's Infrastructure Management and Automation business unit will participate in four panel discussions at Interop. The business technology conference will be held in New York November 16-20, 2009.

Stephen Elliot, vice president of strategy, will participate in a discussion entitled 'Is Automation a Killer Idea or a Career Killer?' on Wednesday, November 18 at 4 p.m. ET. Following is a summary of the session, which will be moderated by Jim Metzler, vice president, Ashton, Metzler & Associates.

The ticking time bomb for IT organizations is that today roughly 75 percent of IT resources are consumed maintaining the status quo, and that percentage creeps up every year. If IT organizations don't make some fundamental changes they will soon not be able to provide any new value-added functionality. Automation holds the promise to both improve quality and free up resources. Most IT organizations have made only modest attempts to automate as they are fearful of losing control over IT. The members of this panel will discuss what explicit functionality IT organizations can safely automate.

Elliot will also participate in a panel entitled 'The People, Process And Technology Of Next Generation Data Centers' on Thursday, November 19 at 9 a.m. ET. Following is summary of the session, which will be moderated by Doug Washburn, analyst, Infrastructure & Operations, Forrester Research.

Technologies like virtualization and automation tools are cornerstone to the next-generation data center (NGDC)—but without the proper processes and staff skills to manage them, tomorrow's data center will be no better off than today's. Likewise, even the right people and process fall short without sufficient technology investment that can minimize labor-intensive tasks. With that in mind, the NGDC is a collection of people, process and technology that support one another. This panel discussion will identify the key people, process and technology considerations to help data center managers plan for the NGDC today.

Derick Wong, senior director of product marketing, will participate in a discussion entitled 'The Language of the Cloud: Scripting and Automation' on Thursday, November 19 at 9 a.m. Following is a description of the session, which will be moderated by Alistair Croll, principal analyst, Bitcurrent.

In a cloud environment, you don't rack and stack servers anymore; instead, you click and drag them. This relieves IT operators of many physical chores, but it creates a new one: server sprawl. To deal with this, most cloud operations teams rely heavily on scripts that automate common functions such as setting up servers or migrating configurations. Those scripts, however, are often tailored to a particular cloud platform—so the same tools that were supposed to liberate IT have inadvertently locked it into a particular cloud environment. If scripting and automation are keys to the success of cloud models, they're not getting the attention they deserve. This panel looks at scripting best practices, automation, and standardization.

Tanvir Hussain, senior vice president of product management, will participate in a panel entitled 'The Impact of Cloud Computing on Network Management' on Thursday, November 19 at 10:15 a.m. Following is a summary of the session, which will be moderated by Jim Metzler.

Cloud computing has the potential to be a management nightmare. IT organizations that implement private clouds need to ensure that when they migrate a virtual machine (VM) to another server that the VM retains the same security, storage access and QoS configurations and policies it had previously. In the case of public cloud services there are at least three separate management domains: the enterprise, the WAN service provider and the various cloud computing service providers. Effective management requires that detailed, consistent management data be gathered from each of the management domains. This panel will outline what IT organizations must do to effectively manage cloud computing.

CA will showcase solutions for business-driven automation, virtualization management and cloud computing, among others, in booth 228.

About CA

CA (NASDAQ: CA), the world's leading independent IT management software company, helps customers optimize IT for better business results. CA's Enterprise IT Management solutions for mainframe and distributed computing enable Lean IT—empowering organizations to more effectively govern, manage and secure their IT operations.

St. Louis, MO – Jo Ann Hejna, Executive Director of The Saigh Foundation in St. Louis, has been named the Honorary Chairperson for TouchPoint Autism Services' 'All Stars for Autism' program in April 2010. The 'All Stars for Autism' program is a month-long awareness and fundraising campaign benefitting TouchPoint (formerly Judevine Center for Autism) and is tied into the National Autism Awareness Month in April.

'I am very pleased to lend my support and the support of The Saigh Foundation to this very worthy cause,' said JoAnn Hejna. 'Autism is a national public health crisis and families are often overwhelmed and frightened when they receive a diagnosis of autism. Now more than ever, there is an urgent need to focus our community's attention and resources on the hundreds of families in St. Louis affected by an autism spectrum disorder.'

The Saigh Foundation was founded the late Fred Saigh, a prominent St. Louis lawyer and one-time owner of the St. Louis Cardinals (from 1947-1953). Considered a visionary and leader in the St. Louis community, Saigh donated generously to many individuals and St. Louis institutions throughout his life. Saigh died in 1999 at the age of 94. A legacy to his generosity, The Saigh Foundation's mission is to enhance the quality of life in the St. Louis metropolitan region through support for charitable projects and initiatives which primarily benefit children and youth through education and health care.

'We are extremely honored to have JoAnn head this very important campaign for us,' said Ron Ekstrand, TouchPoint Autism Services CEO. 'Under her direction, The Saigh Foundation has made a very significant, tangible impact on the health and well being of our community's children and families, bringing services and support to those who need a helping hand, including the children and families served by TouchPoint Autism Services.'

According to Ekstrand, the goal of the 'All Stars for Autism' campaign is to increase community awareness and support for TouchPoint Autism Services. Throughout the month, individuals and corporations will have opportunities to show their support on many levels.

Major components of the campaign include:

An All Stars for Autism retail program
An All Stars Corporate Challenge
An All Stars Online Giving Campaign
An All Stars for Autism Day at the Ball Park and Tailgate Party

'The All Stars for Autism campaign will help build TouchPoint's capacity to provide more responsive, comprehensive and coordinated services,' Ekstrand said. 'Through the funds raised in this and other campaigns, young children will receive more timely diagnoses, assessments, and early intervention services; parents will have the support and guidance they need to navigate care for their child, make educated, timely decisions, and maintain their own emotional wellbeing; and individuals with autism will have greater access to effective treatment and support throughout their lifetime.'

Although there is no known cure for autism, TouchPoint Autism Services has succeeded in providing treatment programs that promise a brighter future for individuals with autism spectrum disorders and their families for more than 37 years. TouchPoint offers treatments and services across the entire lifespan of individuals with autism. These services include behavior and other therapies, parent training, a transitional classroom, family support services, residential options, supported employment, and adult day habilitation services.

With offices in Olivette, St. Louis City, Springfield, Cape Girardeau, Poplar Bluff, Columbia, and Joplin, Missouri, TouchPoint Autism Services reaches more than 2,500 families directly and more than 30,000 indirectly each year – making it the largest autism services provider in Missouri.

For more information on how individuals and corporations can get involved in the 'All Stars for Autism' activities, call Michele Hoeft at 636-432-6200 or visit TouchPoint's website at www.touchpointautism.org.

###

NOTE: The Saigh Foundation is headquartered in Clayton, Missouri.

— WebWireID106752 —

Health Care / Hospitals

Media Advisory

WebWire® Copyright © 2009 Warmtone Corp. | Use of this content is subject to our Terms of Service | More Feeds

WORDS OF CHOICE, dynamic pro-choice theater, travels to Troy, New York for a unique event CHOICE FOR ALL event on October 30, 2009 at 7 pm at the Sanctuary for Independent Media, 3361 6th Avenue in Troy. The evening is cosponsored by Upper Hudson Planned Parenthood.

Writers and artists will appear. Actors Claudia Schneider and Abigail Ramsay will present live selections from the touring performance of "Words of Choice". Author and theater critic Alexis Greene will talk about her book, "Frontlines: Political Plays by American Women" which includes "WORDS OF CHOICE" and six other plays.

In addition, selections from the "Words of Choice" DVD will be played, and Cindy Cooper, founder and creator of Words of Choice will lead the audience through creativity exercises exploring reproductive freedom at this time.

WORDS OF CHOICE has traveled to 20 states to open new conversations about reproductive freedom. The play and DVD of Words of Choice contain the works of a dozen writers on abortion, contraception, body image, pregnancy, adoption, medical services, the Right-wing and pro-choice activism. The play selections are humorous, poignant and dramatic.

One selection, "Letters to Justice Blackmun" is composed of correspondence from a series of people -- pro and con -- who wrote to the author of the decision in "Roe v. Wade". It was compiled with the help of his daughter, Sally Blackmun. Another selection, "In the Movies," by Penny Lane, who is from Troy, gives quirky reviews of films about unwanted pregnancies, dating back to the 1930s.

In recognition of Hallowe'en, the evening will include a parody performance of "Hallowe'en Hell House" (because what could be scarier than women losing their rights?)

Audiences will be invited to discuss the subjects and to engage in participatory exercises on "What Choice Means to Me". The Troy event is part of the "Words of Choice" initiative, "Artist Investigations of Reproductive Rights," or AIRR, which brings fresh air to the choice movement.

The Sanctuary for Independent Media is a telecommunications production facility dedicated to community media arts, located in an historic former church.

The event will be the first appearance of WORDS OF CHOICE in the Upper Hudson. Earlier in October, Cindy Cooper, founder, was honored with the 2009 NARAL ProChoice America Champion of Choice Award.

EVENT DETAILS:
Frontlines: Words of Choice
at the Sanctuary for Independent Media
3361 6th Avenue
Troy, New York
Cosponsored by Upper Hudson Planned Parenthood

Information:
518-272-2390
or
www.mediasanctuary.org
www.wordsofchoice.org
Related Links

— WebWireID106749 —

Books

Entertainment

Legal Issues

Lifestyle / Society

Media Advisory

WebWire® Copyright © 2009 Warmtone Corp. | Use of this content is subject to our Terms of Service | More Feeds

Camas, WA, Convergence Training, produces courses on a wide variety of health and safety issues in a range of media formats. With the 2009 H1N1 Pandemic taking hold around the world, Convergence is addressing rapidly growing concerns with a video that highlights and reinforces prevention of H1N1 Influenza, or 'Flu,' through some very simple methods. Their newly published course, 'H1N1 Awareness,' addresses basic behaviors that can help everyone protect themselves and their families from getting and spreading the H1N1 Flu, previously referred to as 'Swine Flu.'

Back in 1957, the 'Asian Flu' pandemic spread the H2N2 strain of influenza throughout the U.S. As a result, individuals from that generation developed immunity to the H1N1 virus that is currently spreading worldwide. The biggest threat that the H1N1 Flu poses is that it targets children and young adults who have no immunity to such viral exposures. Since it is a new strain of the influenza virus and since flu vaccines are typically developed using a time-consuming biological process involving egg proteins, an effective vaccine has not only taken more time to deliver than expected, but also produced far fewer doses than needed.

To complicate the issue, there is ongoing controversy regarding the safety and effectiveness of the H1N1 vaccine. However, in addition to routine testing of the vaccine, the CDC (Centers for Disease Control) and the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) will be closely monitoring vaccination efforts for indications of unexpected adverse effects.

While, many parents may still be hesitant to get their children vaccinated, there are some basic behaviors that can help children and others at risk stay healthy. Convergence Training's accurate and entertaining H1N1 Awareness video is designed to help nearly any audience put the 2009 H1N1 Pandemic into perspective and remember some basics to help avoid getting and stop spreading the H1N1 Flu.

Randy Kohltfarber, Convergence's Director of Product Development, explains that 'Our goals for this new video are to provide information and tools that can help prevent the spread of the H1N1 Flu, reduce the potential social and economic impact on our country, and ultimately save lives.'

Known for its use of 2D and 3D graphics and distinct visual style, Convergence Training is offering this video for purchase and download in flexible, easily-sharable formats to encourage broad distribution of the training.

About Convergence Training:
Based in Camas WA, Convergence Training is a producer of occupational health and safety training videos, learning management software, and regulatory compliance tools for general industry, mining, pulp and paper, and construction.

For more information on Convergence Training's safety training videos, compliance software, and online training services, visit http://www.ThinkConvergence.com or call 888-634-7346 x231.

About Coggno:
Based in San Jose, CA, Coggno is an LMS/LCMS toolkit and marketplace which facilitates the transfer of intellectual property between course creators and those who wish to acquire it.

Full Year Guidance Confirmed

MorphoSys AG (FSE: MOR; Prime Standard Segment; TecDAX) today announced its financial results for the nine months ending September 30, 2009 according to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Group revenues increased by 8 % to EUR 57.6 million (first nine months 2008: EUR 53.3 million) and operating profit was EUR 9.3 million (first nine months 2008: EUR 15.1 million). Net profit amounted to EUR 7.7 million (first nine months 2008: EUR 11.8 million). The main reason for the change in profits was, as planned, increased investment in proprietary drug development, amounting to EUR 11.9 million (first nine months 2008: EUR 3.6 million). MorphoSys's cash position on September 30, 2009 was EUR 139.8 million (December 31, 2008: EUR 137.9 million). The results are broadly in line with the Company's full year guidance.

Highlights of the Third Quarter of 2009
# Regarding the Company's partnered discovery activities, Bayer Schering Pharma advanced an antibody program into clinical development, triggering a milestone payment to MorphoSys. Bayer Schering Pharma was the third partner in 2009 to file a clinical trial application for a HuCAL-based program, bringing the total number of partnered antibody programs in clinical trials to seven.
# The value of MorphoSys's largest alliance with Novartis was further enhanced by Novartis's commitment to the full ten-year term of the strategic alliance signed in December 2007. The achievement of certain predefined improvements in MorphoSys's proprietary technologies was the catalyst for this event.
# MorphoSys submitted an application for the authorization of a phase 1b/2a clinical study in patients with active rheumatoid arthritis (RA) for its lead drug MOR103, a fully human HuCAL-derived monoclonal antibody directed against Granulocyte Macrophage-Colony Stimulating Factor (GM-CSF). The Company expects to start the study as planned in the last quarter of 2009.
# The appointment of Lisa Rojkjaer as Vice President and Head of Clinical Development further strengthened the Company's development team.
# MorphoSys's drug pipeline now comprises 68 therapeutic antibody programs in total, of which eight are currently in clinical development, 28 are in preclinical development and 32 are in the discovery phase. Six of these are MorphoSys's proprietary programs, with MOR103 being the most advanced.
# AbD Serotec, MorphoSys's research and diagnostics segment continued to expand into the diagnostics market and signed two new agreements. Spinreact S.A. will incorporate antibodies from AbD Serotec in a series of clinical diagnostic kits. Separately, AbD Serotec will collaborate with FIND diagnostics, Switzerland, to develop new diagnostic tools for poverty related diseases such as malaria and tuberculosis.

"Todays results demonstrate MorphoSys remains in top form despite the challenging economic climate in the first nine months of this year," commented Dave Lemus, Chief Financial Officer of MorphoSys AG. "Based on stable and secured cash flows resulting from our partnered discovery business and that of AbD Serotec, we continue to further expand our proprietary product development activities, thereby generating long term value for the Company."

Financial Review for Nine Months of 2009 (IFRS)
Group revenues for the first nine months of 2009 amounted to EUR 57.6 million (first nine months 2008: EUR 53.3 million), an increase of 8 % over the prior year. Segment revenues arising from the Partnered Discovery segment accounted for 75 % or EUR 42.9 million of the total (first nine months 2008: EUR 40.6 million) and included success-based payments in the amount of EUR 7.8 million, while the Proprietary Development segment, comprising the Company's own and joint drug development activities contributed EUR 0.8 million to total revenues. These revenues arise from Novartis's funding of a joint pre-development program. The Research and Diagnostics segment AbD Serotec generated 25 % or EUR 14.6 million of total revenues (first nine months 2008: EUR 13.4 million). Measured at constant foreign exchange rates, segment revenues in the Partnered Discovery and Proprietary Development segments would have amounted to EUR 43.4 million and revenues in the AbD Serotec segment would have amounted to EUR 14.7 million. MorphoSys's overall revenue growth was driven primarily by higher levels of funded research, licensing fees and success-based revenues in the Partnered Discovery and Proprietary Development segments as well as increased sales across the AbD Serotec segment.

Total operating expenses for the first nine months of 2009 amounted to EUR 48.3 million (first nine months 2008: EUR 38.2 million), representing an increase of 26 % over the prior year, which was mainly driven by a higher level of investment in proprietary drug development, as planned. Cost of goods sold (COGS) decreased to EUR 5.1 million (first nine months 2008: EUR 5.2 million). Research and development expenses increased by 50 % to EUR 27.5 million (first nine months 2008: EUR 18.3 million). These R&D expenses comprised costs for proprietary product and technology development in the amount of EUR 12.3 million (first nine months 2008: EUR 4.0 million) as well as costs incurred on behalf of partners. Sales, general and administrative expenses increased by 8 % to EUR 15.7 million (first nine months 2008: EUR 14.6 million). Non-cash charges related to stock-based compensation are embedded in COGS, S, G&A and R&D expenses and amounted to EUR 1.3 million (first nine months 2008: EUR 0.8 million). Total operating profit amounted to EUR 9.3 million (first nine months 2008: EUR 15.1 million).

The segment result for the Partnered Discovery segment amounted to EUR 27.3 million (first nine months 2008: EUR 26.0 million), while the Proprietary Development segment showed a segment loss of EUR 12.4 million (first nine months 2008: segment loss of EUR 4.8 million). In the AbD segment, operating profit significantly increased to € 1.4 million (first nine months 2008: € 0.3 million) and would have amounted to € 0.8 million under the assumption of constant foreign exchange rates at the average rate of 2008. Unallocated corporate costs in the first nine months of 2009 amounted to EUR 7.0 million (first nine months 2008: EUR 6.4 million).

For the first nine months of 2009, non-operating income amounted to EUR 1.4 million (first nine months 2008: EUR 1.3 million). Profit before taxes amounted to EUR 10.8 million (first nine months 2008: EUR 16.4 million).

For the first nine months of 2009, the Company reported income tax expenses in the amount of EUR 3.1 million (first nine months 2008: EUR 4.7 million).

Net profit for the first nine months of 2009 amounted to EUR 7.7 million compared to a net profit of EUR 11.8 million in the same period of the previous year. The resulting diluted earnings per share for the first nine months of 2009 amounted to EUR 0.34 (first nine months 2008: Diluted earnings per share of EUR 0.53).

On September 30, 2009, the Company had EUR 139.8 million in cash, cash equivalents, and marketable securities, compared to EUR 137.9 million as of December 31, 2008. Cash inflow from operations in the first nine months of 2009 amounted to EUR 3.0 million (first nine months 2008: EUR 18.7 million). The number of issued shares at September 30, 2009 was 22,604,457, compared to 22,478,787 shares at December 31, 2008.

Financial Review for the Third Quarter of 2009 (IFRS)
In the third quarter of 2009, revenues decreased slightly to EUR 19.7 million, compared to EUR 20.0 million in the same quarter of 2008. Total operating expenses amounted to EUR 17.0 million, compared to EUR 12.9 million in the same period of 2008. The resulting profit from operations for the third quarter of 2009 amounted to EUR 2.7 million, compared to EUR 7.1 million in the same period of 2008. A net profit of EUR 2.6 million resulted for the third quarter of 2009, compared to EUR 5.5 million during the same period of 2008.

Financial Outlook for 2009
MorphoSys re-confirmed its financial guidance for 2009 as previously communicated in February 2009. The Company anticipates total group revenues between EUR 80 million and EUR 85 million, and an operating profit of EUR 8 million to EUR 11 million. In line with its plans to expand the Company's proprietary pipeline, MorphoSys anticipates making investments in technology and product development of between EUR 18 million and EUR 20 million, compared to EUR 7.7 million in the previous year. Regarding the AbD segment, the Company continues to expect revenues of approximately € 20 million but has today increased the operating margin guidance (previously at least 2%) to up to 6%, depending on operational developments and currency exchange rates.

MorphoSys will hold a public conference call today at 02:00 p.m. CET to present the Nine Months Results 2009 and report on current developments.

Dial-in number for the Conference Call (listen-only):
Germany: +49 (0) 69 7104 8870
For U.K. residents: +44 (0) 1212 60 48 61
For U.S. residents: +1 (1) 866 268 19 47

Please dial in 10 minutes before the beginning of the conference.
Approximately two hours after the press conference, an audio replay of the conference will be available on http://www.morphosys.com.

About MorphoSys:
MorphoSys is an independent biotechnology company that develops novel antibodies for therapeutic, diagnostic and research applications. One deck is about banking, investing, budgeting, and payday (BIBP), and the other deck is about financing, credit, and identity theft (FCIT).

The Learning Key has also developed another learning tool for teaching financial education – an interactive game called Wi$eMoney®.

Wi$eMoney® (http://tinyurl.com/yjo7nqk) was created to support educators in helping young adults become financially literate. While playing, students must make choices as they are confronted with dynamic, real-world life and financial situations. Young people learn their decisions have short- and long-term consequences – just as in real life.

By playing, students learn about financial matters including managing a check register, distinguishing between needs and wants, and such unexpected life surprises as having to pay a parking ticket and needing to replace tires on the car.

Wi$eMoney® has been tested on students ages 13-24 from 22 states, and their answers have improved from 55% to 93% after playing. The game supports standard financial curricula or can be used as a stand-alone learning tool.

For more information about 'Matching Meanings!'or Wi$eMoney®, visit www.thelearningkey.com or call (800) 465-7005.

About The Learning Key Inc.
The Learning Key Inc. has been transforming learning into action through interactive games and simulations for more than 19 years.
