Hong Kong, 28 October, 2009 – Spectrum Wine Auctions, the world's newest live and online auction house of fine collectible wine, announced today that it will simulcast its premiere live auction LIVE via satellite at Crown Wine Cellars in Hong Kong at 9:00AM local Hong Kong time on 22 November, 2009. Crown Wine Cellars is located at 18 Deep Water Bay Drive, Shouson Hill, Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong; telephone +852.2580.6287. www.crownwinecellars.com

Spectrum has anchored the auction with a selection of wines from 'The Aubrey McClendon Collection.' The auction's 686 lots comprise 5,500 total bottles; 3,900 come from the McClendon Collection. It simultaneously takes place 21 November at 5:00PM Pacific Standard Time in the USA at The St. Regis Monarch Beach Resort (www.stregismb.com) in California.

Many in the wine world consider Aubrey McClendon to be one of the greatest American wine collectors, having built an extensive collection highlighted by the best vintages of French Bordeaux and Burgundies, as well as a deep collection of impressive Napa selections. McClendon co-founded Chesapeake Energy Corporation (NYSE:CHK) in 1989, which today is one of the largest producers of U.S. natural gas, where he currently serves as chairman of the board and chief executive officer.

'Fine wine buyers have a once in a lifetime opportunity to buy rare and normally unavailable vintages and formats as well as have a chance to own wine pedigreed to one of the greatest wine collectors in history,' said Greg Roberts, chief executive officer of Spectrum Wine Auctions, and president and chief executive officer of parent company Spectrum Group International. 'Historically, our auction experience in other collectibles such as coins and stamps is that collections pedigreed to great collectors almost always trade for premiums down the road. This is an exceptional buying opportunity.'

Spectrum's pre-auction promotion includes an exclusive interview with McClendon conducted on August 13, 2009, by Mario Sculatti, director of sales and consignments for Spectrum Wine Auctions, which is viewable to registered bidders at www.spectrumwine.com. The interview presents a rare insight into the interests and philosophies of this great collector, and finishes with Mr. McClendon signing an Imperial of 1990 Lafite Rothschild that will be offered during Spectrum Wine Auctions' November 21 auction, with commissions earned from the sale to be donated to a hometown food bank on behalf of Mr. McClendon and Spectrum Wine Auctions.

McClendon's collection features a diverse assortment including many grand format bottlings. 'While I have a lot of 750s, I think the most distinctive part of my collection is the large format bottles,' he says. 'And the reason for that is that when I first saw an Imperial of wine…I said to myself, this is a work of art. This is beautiful. And it's approachable. It's sharable. It's understandable, and at the end of the day it's consumable. A primary collecting goal of mine has been to hunt for top-notch 6-liter bottles of wine over time.'

He continues, 'Like anything in life, if you're going to enjoy something you really ought to try to enjoy, I think, the best of the particular pleasure that you're seeking, and so I would encourage people to go after the best wines. Because at the end of the day, when I have found myself hosting a business dinner, or a family function, or a group of my friends…I want them to experience a first-class wine experience. I want them to remember it for the rest of their lives, just as I remember some of my very first bottles of wine, as well. So I would encourage people to go for the best.'

'It has been both educational and inspirational to have spent time with Aubrey enjoying his passion for wine as well as gaining insight into his business philosophy and his history building Chesapeake into one of the largest independent oil and gas companies in the US,' Roberts concluded.

'Aubrey cuts to the core of what's important in collecting,' adds Spectrum's Director of Sales and Consignments Mario Sculatti. 'He collects the best vintages in depth of cases and large format sizes, approaching his collecting seriously and methodically without being tempted by lesser vintages. It was an honor to sit with him and learn about his genuine passion for wine, and any collector—whether new or seasoned—will benefit from his words.'

Interested parties are invited to call +001.888.982.1982 for additional information and questions.

ABOUT SPECTRUM WINE AUCTIONS:
Spectrum Wine Auctions,(SPGZ:OTC) based in Irvine, Calif., delivers a worldwide buying, selling and appraisal venue for collectors of rare and fine vintage wines.

Generous $2.1 Million Donation from Anheuser-Busch Foundation Expands Program Across the Nation

WASHINGTON, D.C.—The American Red Cross has launched a new one-of-a-kind Ready Rating program to help both schools and businesses in U.S. cities with their emergency planning and preparedness efforts.

Schools and businesses can face a number of emergencies that threaten to disrupt their operations, ranging from natural disasters to the possible widespread H1N1 flu virus that looms this fall and winter. In fact, one in four businesses that are forced to close because of a disaster never reopen. Ready Rating can help businesses from becoming part of those statistics.

The Red Cross Ready Rating program offers free memberships to businesses and schools, which can use an online checklist to measure and score their current preparedness annually. Members maintain their membership by developing and implementing an emergency response plan and improving their overall score each year.

'Business leaders and school officials know how important it is to be ready for an emergency, but they often don't take the right steps to prepare because they don't know where to start or they do not have the time,' said Joe White, Red Cross senior vice president for chapter services. 'This program was created to give businesses and schools an easy starting point so they can feel more confident about the safety of employees and students. Ready Rating is good for businesses and schools, good for employees and students, and good for the local communities.'

Ready Rating first began as a project of the American Red Cross of Greater St. Louis Red Cross and is now being rolled out to 16 other cities as a result of a $2.1 million grant from Anheuser-Busch, the founding sponsor of the program and first company to implement it.

'Whether it's hurricanes on the coast, tornadoes and floods in the Midwest or wildfires and earthquakes in the west, businesses and individuals need to stand ready,' said Dave Peacock, president of Anheuser-Busch. 'No American city is immune to natural disasters, and Anheuser-Busch has a long history of supporting disaster relief and the commendable work of the American Red Cross. We believe preparedness is the first step to keep our employees and businesses safe, and as the founding member of the Ready Rating Program, we are proud to lead the effort to make this available to other communities around the country.'

More information about the program can be found at www.ReadyRating.org.

— WebWireID106369 —

Beer, Wine and Spirits

Personal Services

Publishing / Information Services

Television

WebWire® Copyright © 2009 Warmtone Corp. | Use of this content is subject to our Terms of Service | More Feeds

SPECTRUM WINE AUCTIONS ANNOUNCES MAGNIFICENT ANCHOR COLLECTION OF GREAT AMERICAN COLLECTOR FOR PREMIERE LIVE AUCTION NOVEMBER 21

Pre-auction Promotion Features Exclusive and Rare Video Interview With Renowned Collector Aubrey McClendon

IRVINE, CA, October 14, 2009 – Spectrum Wine Auctions, the world's newest live and online auction house of fine collectible wine, announced today that its premiere live auction scheduled for 5:00PM PST November 21, 2009, will be anchored by a selection of wines from 'The Aubrey McClendon Collection.' The auction will be held at The St. Regis Monarch Beach Resort in Dana Point, Calif., with live auction simulcast in Hong Kong at 9:00AM local Hong Kong time.

McClendon is considered by many in the wine world to be the greatest American wine collector, having built an extensive collection highlighted by the best vintages of French Bordeaux, as well as a deep collection of impressive Napa and Burgundy selections. 'The Aubrey McClendon Collection' offered by Spectrum Wine Auctions in November will feature more than 3,000 bottles. McClendon co-founded Chesapeake Energy Corporation (NYSE:CHK) in 1989, which today is one of the largest producers of U.S. natural gas, where he currently serves as chairman of the board and chief executive officer.

'Fine wine buyers have a once in a lifetime opportunity to buy rare and normally unavailable vintages and formats as well as have a chance to own wine pedigreed to one of the greatest wine collectors in history,' said Greg Roberts, chief executive officer of Spectrum Wine Auctions, and president and chief executive officer of parent company, Spectrum Group International. 'Historically, our auction experience in other collectibles such as coins and stamps is that collections pedigreed to great collectors almost always trade for premiums down the road. This is an exceptional buying opportunity.'

A special element of the auction is an interview granted by McClendon conducted on August 13, 2009, by Mario Sculatti, director of sales and consignments for Spectrum Wine Auctions, which is viewable at www.spectrumwine.com.

The interview presents a rare and exclusive look into the interests and philosophies of this great collector, and finishes with Mr. McClendon signing an Imperial of 1990 Lafite Rothschild that will be offered during Spectrum Wine Auctions' November 21 auction, with commissions earned to be donated to charity on behalf of Mr. McClendon and Spectrum Wine Auctions.

McClendon's collection features a diverse assortment including many grand format bottlings. 'While I have a lot of 750s, I think the most distinctive part of my collection is the large format bottles,' he said.

McClendon also offers his thoughts on collecting, which are shared by many collectors of fine wine: 'Like anything in life, if you're going to enjoy something you really ought to try to enjoy, I think, the best of the particular pleasure that you're seeking, and so I would encourage people to go after the best wines,' said McClendon. 'Because at the end of the day, when I have found myself hosting a business dinner, or a family function, or a group of my friends…I want them to experience a first-class wine experience. I want them to remember it for the rest of their lives, just as I remember some of my very first bottles of wine, as well. So I would encourage people to go for the best.'

'It has been both educational and inspirational to have spent time with Aubrey enjoying his passion for wine as well as gaining insight into his business philosophy and his history building Chesapeake into one of the largest independent oil and gas companies in the country,' Spectrum Wine Auctions CEO Greg Roberts concluded.

Highlights from 'The Aubrey McClendon Collection' include:

Chateau Latour
The rarest bottles of Latour offered in the auction, two bottles of 1945 Latour with outstanding fill levels. Also, 36 bottles of the legendary 1959 vintage. Chateau Latour is a glorious producer, and these gems are true treasures indeed.

Chateau Lafite Rothschild
Possibly the most prestigious lot in the entire sale is a full original wood case of 1959 Lafite Rothschild, a rare treasure indeed. Twelve bottles of 1982 Lafite Rothschild in the original wood case is another amazing highlight. There are a total of 16 full original wood cases of the famous 1998 Lafite. Many other full cases and large format bottles of Lafite are sure to gain attention.

Chateau Petrus
One of the most coveted wines in the world, the diamond of Pomerol. The auction presents three bottles of 1959 Petrus, 45 bottles of the esteemed 1995 Petrus, and banded original wood cases of the newest vintages as well.

Chateau Cheval Blanc
One of the greatest big bottles in the sale is a 6-Liter of 1982 Cheval Blanc in original wood case. A stunning trophy for the collector.

Chateau Mouton Rothschild
The Pauillac estate is legendary and almost needs no introduction. The largest concentration of big bottles in the auction featuring 1.5-liter magnums, 3-liter double magnums, 5-liter Jeroboams and 6-liter Imperials, including some from the 2000 vintage. The weight and variety of Mouton Rothschild in the November sale is exceptional.

Chateau Haut Brion
One of President Thomas Jefferson's favorite chateaux in all of Bordeaux, Haut Brion is another shining light of the November sale presenting 26 bottles of the 1959 Haut Brion. Other highlights include the perfect 1989 Haut Brion in 6-liter Imperial.

Screaming Eagle
A selected parcel of Screaming Eagle includes original full wood three-packs of many vintages. Two magnums are being offered, the 1993 and 1998 vintages, an incredibly rare format for this cult Napa Valley cabernet sauvignon.

Harlan Estate
A true American First Growth property, Harlan Estate is a prominent feature in the November auction, including a depth and breadth of Harlan's greatest vintages: 1994, 1997, 2001 and 2002, in bottles and magnums. Spectrum Wine Auctions is pleased to offer more than 350 total bottles of Harlan Estate in the sale.

Chateau Pavie
The 2000 Pavie from St. Emillion is considered by many to be one of the greatest wines of the 2000 Bordeaux vintage, and possibly ever made by Pavie. The November auction offers 108 bottles of this one wine, nine lots in original wood cases.

Chateau Palmer
1959 Palmer in 375ml half-bottles. The auction offers three original wood cases originally shipped by négociant Mahler-Besse from Bordeaux. Each 24 half-bottle case is piece of history, with every bottle wrapped in a natural straw sheath.

# # #

Spectrum Wine Auctions is scheduled to host its premiere live auction on Saturday, November 21, 2009, anchored by The Aubrey McClendon Collection. The McClendon interview is viewable at www.spectrumwine.com, and complete auction schedule and details will be posted in the coming weeks. Interested parties are invited to call 888.982.1982 for additional information and questions.

Amanda Keston Joins the Spectrum Wine Auctions Team of Experts
Spectrum Wine Auctions is pleased to announce that Amanda Keston has joined the company as director of client services.

Top-rated online LED superstore, BrightLEDSigns.com, publishes free LED buyers guide to help small businesses maximize their signage ROI.

As many small business owners have faced increasing challenges over the past year, it has become ever more important to maximize the return on investment on all marketing and advertising expenditures.

"Our company has always focused on helping the small business owner find the most effective and affordable LED signage option to fit their specific needs", notes Jake Morgan, marketing manager of Bright LED Signs. "By providing this free LED sign buyers guide, our team wants to give back to the community of entrepreneurs that have helped us build our business over the years. "

By using this LED sign buyers guide, small business owners will be able to determine what they should be looking for to ensure that they will be completely satisfied with their LED signage purchase.

Here are some points to consider when choosing a LED sign for a small business or retail shop:

1) What size LED sign is needed? This is an important consideration that needs to be made prior to ordering a sign.

Small business owners will also want to check with their city's codes as far as street signs, as some cities have codes that dictate the size and even the use of signs. By doing all of one's homework before purchasing an LED sign, one will be able to more easily make a decision.

Take measurements of the retail shop or small business where the LED sign is to be placed . Would the sign be better in front of the property or to the side? Would it be closer to a highway or main road if it were to be placed another way?

2) What are the most important features that are desired in a LED sign? Electronic LED signs are available in different color variations, pixel sizes, and pitch. All of these features dictate how well it can be seen from a distance and from different viewing angles.

An LED sign can has a clean digital look to it. One can animate a sign with moving images that capture extra attention. One can also have the LED sign "crawl", that is to have the message move from left to right, right to left or up and down. One can even add extra effects to a LED sign message. The choices are endless when creating the right sign for a small business or retail shop.

If a particular small business is right off a main highway and its wanted to have the LED sign seen from both directions of the highway, one will want to keep this in mind when choosing a LED sign. Tighter spacing or pitch will help make an LED sign easier to read and it will look more detailed.

3) How easy is the LED sign to use and change the message?

On certain types of programmable LED signs, one can pre-program different messages and even add a default message to a given LED sign. One can choose between a unit that will display a fixed message or one that will scroll a message. Either way, each small business owner will want to determine which one is best for a particular business' needs.

By using this LED Sign Buyers Guide, small business owners will be able to determine what type of sign is the right one for a specific business or retail shop, and how a custom LED display can increase its visibility and sales.

For more information on how to use affordable LED signs to market and advertise a small business, visit http://www.BrightLEDSigns.com

— WebWireID104758 —

Advertising / Marketing

Beer, Wine and Spirits

Commercial Services

Real Estate

Retail

WebWire® Copyright © 2009 Warmtone Corp. | Use of this content is subject to our Terms of Service | More Feeds
